Exchange students should be selected by their home institution, which will nominate them to study in FAU/UFRJ (by email , for one or two semesters. We are able to host students for the 3rd and 4th years. Students can start their exchange program at FAU/UFRJ in both semesters, the one that starts in August or in March.
Your home institution must NOMINATE you first, sending an email (intercambio@fau.ufrj.br), during the NOMINATION time.After the NOMINATION, we open the APPLICATION process.

During the APPLICATION process/time, FAU/UFRJ will send, directly to the students, by email, some forms to fill in; we don’t put these forms on our website in advance. You will receive all the instructions further.
International students who are not Portuguese fluent are required to attend at least 4 months of Portuguese language course before arriving. In addition to that, during their exchange program, they should take Portuguese classes in UFRJ, provided by the university.
